Meet the Team
Sheri McGinnis
As a strong advocate of bringing the natural environment within the scope of education, Sheri is honored to be part of the inception of this remarkable school concept. Sheri has taught in Independent Schools for over 20 years. She believes in serving the unique qualities of the individual, and has prioritized providing passionate, purposeful, caring, compassionate, and self-aware instruction. A proponent of place-based education, Sheri finds ways to connect her students to the vibrant biodiversity of their location.
Kate McWilliams
Kate is the visionary behind this school plan. Kate is a musician, teacher, and luthier who divides her time between her family, conducting an orchestra, and building medieval stringed instruments.
A native of the land, Kate has studied its ecosystem and taken an increasingly active role in promoting healthy forest regeneration. She sees the forest school as the best opportunity to sustain and perpetuate the forest while contributing to the wellbeing of the students who will attend.
Julianne Malcolm
Hi, I’m Julianne. As someone who spent over 25 years teaching in a Montessori classroom, I know how powerful it is for kids to be truly seen for who they are. My passion is empowering children to build confidence, joy and wonder, and social and emotional resiliency. Empowering intuitive, empathic youth to cultivate their gifts and live more purpose filled lives is my passion and I’m on a mission to help them embrace their whole self and shine brighter than ever.
I have a Master’s degree in education and have spent over 25 years in the classroom. I am a certified WISDOM Life Coach for kids, and a certified parent coach. I hold certifications in Montessori education, life coaching, emotional freedom technique and emotional intelligence. I have studied and incorporated mindfulness techniques and heartmath into my practices. It is a joy for me to watch children unfold and find their true center and experience life from that sense of wholeness and wonder.
